Forest-Grown Mushroom Cultivation Workshop
Join us for a fall workshop with Fungi Ally on how to inoculate logs for forest-grown shiitake mushrooms.
About this Event
Join Three Sisters Ecofarm for a fall workshop with Fungi Ally on how to inoculate logs for forest-grown shiitake mushrooms. Forest cultivation of shiitake mushrooms can generate income, diversify farm and forestry enterprises, add value to forest by-products and create opportunities for timber stand improvement. In addition, forest grown shiitakes have been found to be superior in flavor and freshness compared to conventional shiitake mushrooms. This workshop will cover log cultivation, totems, and more. Attendees will leave with an inoculated log worth $25.00.
Fungi Ally is one of the leading mushroom education organizations in New England. Founded in 2013, Fungi Ally began as a mushroom farm and in recent years has transitioned to focus on mushroom education. Fungi Ally offers courses, workshops, cultivation guides, and growing equipment for backyard and commercial growers. You can learn more at www.fungially.com
